The Hips
April 2026 | The Hips, A Bridge Between Tension And Flexibility
Blessed and refreshed
I am feeling so full - and yet so spacious - as I recently returned from my first holiday in 8 years, to Vietnam. What an amazing and humbling place to experience!
My most memorable moments were the interactions with people I met from the north to the south. On three occasions, I found myself sharing about craniosacral therapy, as synchronicities led to people opening up about their health challenges.
I truly love those moments — when someone realises there are healing pathways they hadn’t considered, that the body knows how to heal, and that we can learn to listen to its wisdom ♥.
In some of my circles, April is being described as a time when the inner life feels still and clear… and the outside world seems a little strange. For me, it has felt almost the opposite.
I have always appreciated the opportunity travel gives me to pause from the familiar rhythms of my life, to soften into something more spontaneous, and to learn new edges about myself — living day to day, moment to moment, in new environments (and only with what can fit in a suitcase)! Coming home, I initially felt a little disoriented returning to the energies I remembered in my environment.
The new perspectives and growth that come with travel can make us shift how we perceive ourselves — and I love that. So I’ve been integrating the new with the familiar, and I now feel very settled, grounded, and ready to return to the clinic and support you all again.
The clinic
I’ve expanded my offerings, now including online healing and intuitive sessions.
Online (distance / non-contact) healing is something I’ve worked with in other modalities previously, and I’m so excited to now offer craniosacral sessions in this way. It opens the door for those who feel called to this work but aren’t able to attend in person.
Intuitive readings are actually where my path began, before I moved more deeply into hands-on healing work. As I’ve learned to listen more deeply — both to my own body and to the bodies of my clients — my intuition has refined in a new way. It’s been fascinating to discover that the way I receive intuitive information and the way I perceive within healing sessions are, in essence, the same.
I also want to express my gratitude to past and present clients who have shared kind words publicly (through Google reviews), as well as privately.
One client recently shared that she now feels resourced, thriving, and complete with our work together. To me it is the highest compliment — that our work has fulfilled its purpose. This work is not meant to be forever — only until you feel recalibrated, resourced, and ready to walk your path independently again. ♥
Body Wisdom
The hips. The hips represent how we hold and move through life — our capacity to receive, to create, to choose direction not just from the mind, but from a deeper, instinctive centre. If the feet are how we meet the earth, the hips are how we respond to it.
The hips are a place of power, but not forceful power — rather, a receptive, generative intelligence. They sit at the centre of the body, bridging above and below, holding the tension between stability and movement, control and surrender.
Our hips carry the imprint of how safe it has felt to be in our body. They often hold our unexpressed emotions, our hesitation, our bracing against life, but also our creativity, sensuality, and capacity for flow.
The hips symbolise our relationship with change. Can we move with life, or do we grip and hold? Can we trust the unfolding, or do we tighten in anticipation of what might come?
For just a couple of minutes, invite your attention into your hips.
Let your awareness settle there as fully as you can. You may like to close your eyes.
First, notice your hips in stillness. Then, gently begin to move — perhaps a slow sway, a small circle, or simply a soft rocking. You may like to return to stillness, and notice what is present without movement.
Where in the hips do you notice ease? Where is there tension?
Do your hips feel held, or are they holding?
Is there a sense of flow, or a sense of containment?
Can you notice their subtle holding or flexible patterns, their quiet intelligence, the way they respond when we slow down enough to listen?
Without trying to change anything or judge, allow your hips to be exactly as they are and listen for their message, do they have something to tell you?
There is something deeply humbling about meeting this part of the body — this place that knows how to create life, to hold life, to move us forward through life — even when the mind is uncertain.
This simple act of noticing — of bringing awareness to the body, anchoring in the present moment — helps signal safety to the nervous system. It allows the body to speak and express.
Warmly
Danni
